After forging a friendship at University of California, Riverside’s MFA program in 2007 and 2008, Dave and Alexis decided to embark on a project. Originally both from places on and near the East Coast, they found the weather of California to be a bit unsettling. While beautiful, there is something to be said for seasons. So Alexis left, moved back to New Jersey and then to Seattle. All the while Dave stayed in California, and in an effort to capture the disparte climates of their various geographies, a group project was begun. Expanding beyound UCR, Dave’s friend Joanie joined as well.
This blog traces the weekly weather and its connection to body, memory and thought. We post weekly; Joanie on Saturday, Dave on Tuesday and Alexis on Thursday. Enjoy!

So, the original plan has strayed a bit, and we’ve picked up some more writers. Nicole and Tim post from the Pennsylvania/Philadelphia area, somewhat regularly. And David has joined us as well, from lovely Riverside, CA. I’m of the opinion, the more the merrier. If you’d like to participate, just shoot me an email, alexis (dot) vergalla (at) gmail (dot) com We don’t need regular schedules, though I’ll continue to try to post every Tuesday.
